Job summary

A Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product by defining the product vision, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the development team builds what delivers the highest business value. They act as the bridge between stakeholders and the teamclarifying requirements, prioritizing features, and ensuring the product meets customer needs and business goals.

Main duties of the job

  • Define and communicate the product vision to ensure the team understands the goal and desired outcomes.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the most valuable items are worked on first.
  • Gather and refine requirements based on stakeholder input, customer needs, and business priorities.
  • Clarify user stories and acceptance criteria so the development team knows exactly what to build.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align expectations and gather feedback throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work with the development team during sprints to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure smooth progress.
  • Review and accept completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and delivers the intended value.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
    • Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care

    Desirable

    • Qualified in Phlebotomy
    • Qualified to NVQ level 3

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience of working within a nursing team
    • Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients

    Desirable

    • Experience of working in a GP practice
